English Translation

Translation of 撒野 (SAYE), an original fansong based on the cnovel of the same name (requested by Chii). I have not read the novel (though it is on my endless to-read list haha) so I really don’t know the context. So apologies in advance if my translation doesn’t seem to fit well. It seems spoiler-free though.

According to the composer, the lyrics are taken from lyrics written in the novel’s text. Hence, the lyrics are credited to the author. In the novel, the song is written by the character Gu Fei.

I take a step unsteadily, and I am taking flight

Looking upwards I’m at a loss, looking downwards I hear you say this world is empty

You say one two three, shatter the past, and perish

The wind blows, breaking the path back home, do you see me singing

You say one two three turn around, you hear the panic being erased

I wish to, raise my head to the warm sunshine and spring fields, you give me a simple hug

I wish to, trample on the times when I was at a loss, open one’s eyes and you will hear

I wish to, have you on my left, smile on my right

I wish to, in your eyes, run freely and wildly

I wish to, one gaze of the eyes, till we are old

You say one two three turn around, you hear the panic being erased

I wish to, raise my head to the warm sunshine and spring fields, you give me a simple hug

I wish to, trample on the times when I was at a loss, open one’s eyes and you will hear

I wish to, have you on my left, smile on my right

I wish to, in your eyes, run freely and wildly

I wish to, one gaze of the eyes

I wish to, one gaze of the eyes, till we are old

Notes: Mandarin is not my most proficient language, so feel free to feedback. Also, I interpreted some lines to my own understanding, and balanced between literal and lyrical translations.

(我想 can mean so many things. I’m sorry if it sounds weird… ;w;)
