Important note about MDZS / TGCF posts

28 APRIL 2019 UPDATE: I have approached and sorted things out with two youtube users. The first one did not delete the videos, but chose to blur out the subs. Please inform me if this user ever repeats their actions.

I have worked things out with the second youtube user. Things are fine now. Please don’t bother them.

Sadly, this incident has shown that if a person really wants to take your hard work, they will do whatever it takes even if you password-lock all your posts and put a stern warning. There is no way for me to judge their intentions if they disguise it well. So fine, I will make everything public again.

However, I ask for your cooperation in telling me if you ever see anyone using my translations without my knowledge/credit. I will approach them to settle things.

To everyone who keeps asking why I don’t sub my translations on the videos: I don’t want to repost another fan’s hard work without their permission. I have tried asking original uploaders but to no avail. So I could only proceed this way. I have many footnotes which I think will enhance people’s understanding, but cannot fit in a video. Those are the top reasons. I allowed people to use my translations as long as they tell me first and credit/link back (including re-translating into another language).

So like I always state at the end of my posts: If you want to use my translations for anything, ask me first. Please don’t copy/paste/edit my translations elsewhere without my knowledge. If you take advantage of my hard work, don’t expect me to 给你面子.

Lastly, if you enjoy my blog content, you may consider buying me a ko-fi (https://ko-fi.com/A7671WQX). If not, a simple “thank you” and/or comments are always appreciated. This applies to any translator – please take the initiative to show them your appreciation.

7th Year Anniversary + Cafe Digest

Happy 7th anniversary to us! I feel that as time goes by, blogs will fade away since we have RL commitments. But I still enjoy posting now and then. So to anyone still following us, thanks for sticking around and hope you’ve been enjoying the posts.

I know I said in my last anniversary post (oops hah) that I have a tendency to visit themed cafes, and will post about them one by one. Well I guess I shelved it till now… I did make a list of themed cafes I visited and it’s easily over 10. At this pace, it’ll take me forever to write about them. So I’ll do a digest and for starters, I’ll choose the cafes which I think will interest people more.

6th Year Anniversary + Otomate Cafe

For anyone still following, happy 6th anniversary to us! I’m relieved that my motivation for the past year picked up. As you can see, my playing speed is much faster when I don’t have to write spoiler posts. However, I do like checking my spoiler posts as and when for personal reference. So I think I will do a mix of them from now on.

Also, I see that quite a few people enjoyed my last post about otome-related places in Japan. I have a tendency to visit themed cafes, so I’m going to try to do my best recall my experiences, and post about them one by one. Of course, I will also write about any other interesting places or events I visit. For starters, I will describe my experience at Otomate Cafe, since I think many otome fans are curious about it!

2016 in review + Happy 2017!

hny-1

WordPress has no annual report this time, but it’s been a SUPER quiet year here so no problems for me to write a brief summary. Basically, the main highlight was two games for me. XD Oh well, thank you to everyone for still dropping by!

Here’s to hoping that the 2017 will have more activity and more great titles. Thanks again for following us, and hope that the new year is brighter than the previous one!

5th Year Anniversary + sharing about Japan

5ya-3

So…8 months flew past without us posting much, and the 5th year anniversary arrived last month. ;; Well, there were some changes in RL, but to be honest the bigger reason is probably that I have very low motivation at the moment. (Yet I’m wasting time on mobile games) But I do hope to at least finish something this year haha. Though if you don’t mind posts about mobile games, I can write something up too.

We haven’t prepared anything for this year. But we see that this blog is still getting views and the few comments here and there, probably thanks to our old posts. So thank you so much for that!

It’s not much, but below I plan to share some places about Japan. More specifically, stores which otome fans like myself may be interested in. Then again, you may already know them, but for those who don’t – hope you find it interesting!

2015 in review + Happy 2016!

The WordPress.com stats helper monkeys prepared a 2015 annual report for this blog.

Here’s an excerpt:

The Louvre Museum has 8.5 million visitors per year. This blog was viewed about 100,000 times in 2015. If it were an exhibit at the Louvre Museum, it would take about 4 days for that many people to see it.

We survived another year! As usual, it’s been a quiet year but thank you to everyone for sticking with us. As expected, certain otome anime and English localisations keep topping our stats. XD

Anyway, hopefully I will be able to update soon with another review. (I have an amazingly long backlog with some amazing games, I think, which I really want to play.) Thanks again for following us, and hope that the new year is fantastic for us all!

4th Year Anniversary Giveaway: Results

The 4th Year Anniversary Giveaway has ended and we’d like to announce the results today! So after drawing a random number (generated from random.org), we got the respective numbers:

Chromite – 70, 29
Yume – 33

Congratulations to the winners! Sena picked number 70 and Hinano picked 29, so Chromite will be drawing their requests. Only Dellz entered the draw for set #1 so she will be getting those badges. And Aseriaa picked number 33, so she will be receiving set #2.

Chromite will email Sena and Hinano the finished requests and will post a LQ preview here for everyone to see once she’s done. And I’ll ask Dellz and Aseriaa for their postal addresses to mail out the can badges. Thank you all for your participation and we hope that you had some fun!

2014 in review + Happy 2015!

The WordPress.com stats helper monkeys prepared a 2014 annual report for this blog.

Here’s an excerpt:

The Louvre Museum has 8.5 million visitors per year. This blog was viewed about 160,000 times in 2014. If it were an exhibit at the Louvre Museum, it would take about 7 days for that many people to see it.

It’s been a quiet year but thank you to everyone for sticking with us for another year. We can’t help with our busy lives but we’ll continue doing our best to update as and when we can. Also, I just want to let everyone know that I’m seriously considering on whether or not I should still continue my detailed reviews…in exchange for more frequent updates but less detailed reviews, or even non-spoiler ones. Because I’m getting old and I get easily tired from note-taking nowadays.

Anyway, if you have anything to say with regards to that just feedback to me. Thanks again for following us, and hope that the new year brings great things to everyone!
